Agenda Alliance is delighted to welcome two new members to our Board of Trustees, who will jointly act as co-Chairs:
- Saffron Cordery is deputy chief executive of NHS Providers, with nearly 30 years experience working in public sector policy, advocacy and communications. Her early career focused on influencing European policy and politics, and she was previously Head of Public Affairs at the Local Government Association. She is currently a Trustee at GambleAware, a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and uses her lived experience of sexual abuse as a child and young person to fuel her activism on behalf of survivors and her commitment to equity and justice for women and girls.
- Tanya Tracey is the Criminal Justice Services Manager at Birth Companions, and has dedicated over 15 years to advocacy and transformative change on behalf of women who have survived incarceration. She has worked with organisations such as Women in Prison, nia, User Voice (an organisation led by those who have experience of contact with the criminal justice system) and Cranstoun, working with young people at risk of entering the CJS due to substance use. She brings 9 years of trustee experience from Clean Break Theatre Company, where she was also co-chair for 2 years. Her belief in the importance of centering those with lived experience in governance and leadership is deeply rooted in her own journey, driving her to challenge power hierarchies and amplify the voices of the most marginalised.
Regarding her appointment, Saffron Cordery said:
“I am exceptionally proud to be appointed as co-chair of Agenda Alliance and delighted to have the opportunity to support its work to help women and girls thrive, at a time when discrimination, deprivation and unmet needs are so prevalent. Agenda Alliance has bold ambitions to cut through the cycle of trauma and harm that so many women and girls experience. It is a privilege to be part of that change in the service of equity and justice.”
On joining the Board, Tanya Tracey said:
"I am thrilled about the chance to co-chair the Agenda Alliance board. It fills me with immense pride to be part of a feminist organisation that has intersectionality as a core value because, for me, it’s important to recognise the difference in experiences, the layers, obstacles, prejudice, and discrimination faced by the most marginalized women and girls. This opportunity allows me to contribute to Agenda's aspirations, bring about change, advocate for appropriate support that responds to the needs of women and girls, and shed light on the detrimental effects of systemic racism. Agenda's dedication to collaboration and amplifying lived experiences resonates deeply with my personal values.”
Regarding their appointment, Indy Cross, Agenda Alliance CEO, said:
“I’m thrilled to welcome Saffron and Tanya to Agenda Alliance as co-chairs of the board. They bring an incredible wealth of experience that will take us from strength to strength as our research and campaigning enters an exciting phase of development and growth, and we continue to empower our Alliance. Both Saffron and Tanya have such immense passion for and commitment to the work we do, and embedding our values, anti-racism and the voices of women and girls with multiple unmet needs. I am so proud to have them join us.”
